Football Is Coming!

Yes, it is getting closer to football season. I have watched some of the preseason games on tv. I watch the 49ers, Raiders, and the Saints. I'm hoping regular season proves to be better than preseason. Jerry Rice signed back on to the 9ers for a day so he could retire a 9er. He should have never left the 9ers in my opinion. Now Aaron Brooks is QB for the Raiders! Unreal! The Saints have never been termed a "winning" team, but I am just hard headed enough to think that "one year" it will happen. This year? Who knows! I guess I have kinda always been for the underdog and the Saints sure fit that category! If any of these 3 teams make it to the SuperBowl I would be one happy camper! I would love to get to a 49er game live. Again, maybe one year!

Madison!

This is my oldest granddaughter, Madison. This was actually taken 3 years ago, but I don't have any "new" pics of her. This post is dedicated to Madison. Madison is a beautiful little girl with more understanding that one gives her credit for. Things are really hard for her right now, and really has been for quite some time. I just found out that Madison's father has gone home. He was 35 years old. He had a heart attack. Madison and her mom, my oldest daughter, Jessica, didn't live with him. In fact, they were never married. I had mixed feelings about Randy, and rightfully so. The details I won't go into, for it is not necessary. I will say that Randy was a nice looking man and a very likeable person. However, he let the ways of the world have priority and I think that is what led up to his heart attack. Jessica has not told Madison yet, but is going to this weekend. Madison loved her dad very much and was looking forward to a visit from him. She knew he was supposed to on his way to come see her for the weekend. Madison hunny, Grandma in California loves you so very much and sends hugs and kisses to you. I look forward to seeing you again, when ever that will be. I miss you sweetie.

Finally....Ronnie's Graduation Pic

Oh I am so glad the pic finally came in!! This pic was taken just before the graduation ceremony began. He was still feeling good at this time. Some people say that in this pic he looks like Elvis!! He CAN do the "Elvis Lip"...must have inherited that from his mother!! HaHaHa!!!!

By the way, he has started his fall session at college now. He is taking English, Math, and a computer class. For some people this is an easy load, but for him...it's enough at one time. What a great guy he is.

New Addition To My Blog!!

Oh WOW!!! I can hardly believe what I did!! I have been wanting a temp sticker on my blog since the beginning, and just now got brave enough to tackle it. Personally I don't think I did too bad!! LOL I really didn't know "how" to do it...so I just started playing around and waalaa...I DID IT!!! I am so proud of myself!! Next I just might have to work on the moon phases because I think that is cool to keep up with as well.

I'm still learning and trying to make this blog more interesting for anyone that might happen upon it to read once in a while. In a way, I just kinda view this as my little space to write out my thoughts and post some pics along the way. Naturally, I would love it to be viewed by people, and have them make comments, but I guess if I make it interesting enough.....as the saying goes from the movie....if you build it they will come. You know what movie I'm referring to? :) Love that movie...it IS a gooder!! Anyway, keep checking in...and post your comments as well...I love the feedback. It let's me know someone is reading too!

Cody Meadows Jeep Run

Oh WOW!!! I am so glad THIS pic actually downloaded to the blog! (see previous posts where I was trying to download of my son that didn't come in...wonder where they went when it said it was downloading to blogger?!) What a GREAT run this was. We went with the CCMG 4WD Club out of Sacramento on Saturday the 26th to Cody Meadows. It was a very fun run and we met some very nice people. ALL of the members of the CCMG are wonderful people. We met a nice couple from Gardnerville that we will probably meet up with more for some excursions on our own with the jeeps, as well as their dirtbikes and our quads. There was a nice family we met that is from Sacramento that hopefully we will run into again on some future jeep runs as well. The pic is taken in the heart of Cody Meadows. The cabin is still used to this day by the "cowboys" who come after their cattle that they previously dropped off for the summer grazing. We actually saw some of the cattle on this run. Just prior to deer season opening, the "cowboys" return to gather their cattle, which will be in the next couple or so weeks. We did this ride a few weeks back and this area was very green and lush. As the summer has worn on the lushness has disappeard somewhat. The stream that runs in this area is VERY small now compared to what it was a few weeks back. It was suprising to me to see how much it had changed in such a short period of time. Later I will try to post some more pics of the day. I took a lot of pics, but didn't keep them all!! LOL

The run was very exciting and no mishaps on our part. However, there was a "MobyVan" that broke a side mirror on this run and a Liberty that had not 1 but 2 flat tires! Lucky for them, there was one other Liberty on the run that came to their aid and let them use their spare to go along with the one they had so they could complete the run.

In a couple weeks we will be doing another run with the CCMG. We will do Steamboat Mountain unless plans change and we do Hell Hole instead. This run will be a 2 night camping adventure as well. On that Friday night we will have a moonlight run. Seeing as how it will be the next night after the full moon, it should be pretty awesome. We have been told we will go to this certain area on that moonlight run that has a great view, and we will have magaritas and return to camp. The next day will be the major run and returning to camp for a gourmet 6-course dinner under the stars. Wake up Sunday morning to a hot buffet breakfast, break down camp, and have an awesome raffle. I am looking forward to this run as well, and I'm sure it will be one that we will want to do again next year!

Life is good, and I am truly enjoying every minute that I am blessed to have. Each day is a gift and I am so glad that I get this gift. Some people will wake up tomorrow mornning and say, "Oh god....MONDAY...uggghhh". Last Monday while walking in at work, I said to a co-worker what a beautiful day it was. Their comment was, "Yeah, well I wish it were Friday instead of Monday." My reply was...you have to have a Monday before you can get to Friday!! I'm thankful for every day that I get.

With that said....I must find myself getting into bed. It's getting late for this ole gal to be up on the computer when work calls my name tomorrow...Monday!!! Gotta love it!

Happy Birthday Sheree

I'm wishing a very happy birthday to my daughter Sheree who is 25 today on the 25th of August! She has had a good day, went to the gym at 9 this morning...met her dad for lunch, after dropping the baby at her grandmothers house. Mamaw told her to not come back until later afternoon!! So, she took advantage of that and got herself a doc appointment before returning to pick the baby up. Her brother called her at 4:30 this afternoon, and her inlaws took her out for dinner! She got her present from me on Wednesday which she was very happy about! I hope her sister called her today, but I'm unsure if she did or not. I would be most happy to have posted a pic of her here, but since I couldn't get Ronnie's pic to come in after trying 3 times....I won't even try!!

For tomorrow, it's a Jeep run for us! Looking forward to that. We are doing a Cody Meadows run with the CCMG out of Sacramento. We have been to Cody Meadows in the Jeep already and on the quads as well, but this time we will have a narrated run so we will be able to learn of the history of the area this time. This should be a very enlightening adventure for us and we are way excited about it!

Whatever you find yourself doing this weekend, enjoy yourself and be safe. Until next time.......

3rd Time a Charm?

That is what they say...3rd times a charm! Is it?
3rd attmept for adding the graduation pic of Ronnie!
Thanks for your patience....mine (patience) is gone now!! lol
Have a great Sunday.
GO 9ERS!!!!

Again I Tried....

...and again it looks like it failed. Still trying to add his picture. It said it was uploaded etc etc but I just can't see it. hmmmmm

Speaking of my son, Ronnie.....

Well, his picture was supposed to have appeared!! Maybe I will get a suprise and it will appear afterall! If not, it was of him at his graduation. It is a favorite pic of mine and I was hoping to share it with you. This was a tremendous accomplishment for him to acheive. The graduation was a very emotional time for me, and for others that were there as well. This was a goal he had, to be able to graduate...and he was successful. I am so very proud of him for reaching this milestone in his life. He is not stopping at a high school graduation either. He is going to college now and continues to move forward. At the present time he is just concentrating on the basics and later will decide what field he wants to go into. Originally, he wanted to be a civil engineer. I think he still has that desire, but unsure if he will be able to pursue that field, due to the problems he has with short term memory loss, as a result of the last seizures he had before surgery. It's a long story really, but at any rate, he isn't giving up and neither is his mom! (geez I sure hope that pic comes in)

Just Commenting

Sometimes I wonder why do I even have this blog here? I really don't have much time to devote to making it really nice. I get ideas of something I would like to add to it to make it a little more interesting, yet I seem to have a problem in figuring out "how" to do it, how to add what I would like to add. I guess sometimes I'm like the majority of the people in the world that want to be able to construct things without having to involve too much time! We are an instant people today. We want things and we want them NOW!! Why else has the microwave been such a popular appliance in our kitchen today? How many people do you know that does NOT have a microwave? Of course I have one too! I want that food and I want it NOW!! I need patience, and I need it NOW! lol...oh well...lol

Last weekend I spent quite a bit more time than usual on the puter. My son was online when I was, and we got to chatting via msn messenger. I got him to upgrade his messenger and we were able to play checkers together. That was so much fun to be able to play a game with him and spend time with him like that even though we are over 2,000 miles from each other. He enjoyed it very much as well, even though I won the games we played. He told me though he would have me play no other way and that he was going to try as hard as he could and wanted me to do the same! What a swell guy! He does not want anyone to just "give in" to him. He is not a quitter, and does not give up very easy. He is quite amazing really. No, it's not just mom being proud of her son either. For anyone to have gone through all that he has, and still have the positive attitude that he has and the determination he has, is more than amazing. It is hard to live so far away from him, but we are ok with it and we understand each other. I am not any less of a mother to him because of our mileage difference. He knows I love him very much and I know he loves me as well. Some may think I should move back to be closer to him etc under the circumstances, but what difference would that make? It wouldn't make his "condition" any better. The only difference that I can see it would make is just that I would be able to see him and visit him in person more. Well, another way of looking at it would be, it makes the time I DO get to visit him in person, more valuable and special. That would hold true for my 2 daughters and 2 granddaughters as well. BUT, where I am now is HOME to me, and they know that and understand that....so why should anyone else have a problem with that?!! WOW, how did I get on that? Oh...."Just Commenting" is the title of this post! lol

Have a great Saturday everyone and do something special for yourself. Even if it is just taking it easy and doing nothing.....that can be very special...and rewarding as well.
